Prior to Accolent Real Estate, Marcus worked for Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and JPMorgan Chase & Co., providing a range of legal and regulatory related services. His work included due diligence, legal entity and regulatory governance, enterprise-wide banking compliance, risk mitigation, and policy/procedures development.

Marcus is also a licensed attorney in New York. His legal experience includes work on international transactions including commercial real estate, land development deals and technology licensing. IP work has encompassed Trademark, Copyright, Technology Licensing, and Media & Entertainment Law.

Marcus studied International Business Management and graduated undergrad in Europe. He received his Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law in Charleston, South Carolina. Following the completion of law school, he then completed an L.L.M. in Intellectual Property Law from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York, where he served as a General Counsel extern for Warner Bros.’ DC Comics.

He is also fluent in the German language and served in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Kevin C. Calhoun
Business Development & General Partner

Kevin Calhoun, Calhoun Group COO, has over 20 years of executive leadership in managing global operations for Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Calhoun also serves as a Partner, Advisor and Engineer to Accolent. In his capacity as Calhoun Group COO, Kevin is responsible for expanding The Calhoun Group Realty to new growth markets and improving operational efficiency.  Before joining The Calhoun Group Realty, Kevin was Chief Operating Officer for Axis Teknologies, specialized in developing new technologies for the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry, growing new markets, reducing operational expenses and increasing investor/stakeholder value. He brings his corporate experience in building and expanding manufacturing plants and office buildings with Corning, Inc and Proctor & Gamble in the US, Mexico, Canada, Europe and Asia. Past performance includes: building $30M in private equity financing, $240M+ of operational cost reductions and market share growth that consistently exceeded investor/executive board targets.  A member of several Executive Boards in both for profit and non-profit organizations. Mr. Calhoun is a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Mechanical Engineer.  

Mr. Calhoun is the owner of three hotels, including Four Points by Charlotte Sheraton – Lake Norman, a new hotel located approximately 15 miles from downtown Charlotte.

Edward Rhodes, MBA
Senior Financial Analyst

Edward Rhodes has nearly 30 years of investment banking, corporate banking and management consulting experience. Since 2000, Edward has served as CEO of MCP Corporate Advisors (MCP), a consulting firm that provides Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Finance and Strategic Consulting services for startup, small and middle market companies throughout North America and the Caribbean.

Prior to founding MCP, Edward was an Investment Banker in New York City with JP Morgan Chase and BMO Capital Markets (Bank of Montreal). During his career, Edward has closed dozens of complex corporate finance transactions including Mergers and Acquisitions, Leveraged Buyouts, Project Finance, Equity Capital, High Yield and High Grade Debt Capital and Syndicated Bank Loans with an aggregate value in excess of $450 billion.

Edward holds an MBA in Finance from Columbia University and a BA in History from the University of Virginia.

Edward's professional and community affiliations include Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, numerous chambers of commerce and the Washington Animal Rescue League.
